a sleeper hit with judy dench,,,that's how they are describing the movie.....welllllllll my girlfriend loved it and I liked it and would wait for the DVD...it was definitely slow going ,, the story was true and that was sad to hear...to think that convents were like that back then is hard to imagine .....I give this movie a 7 out of 10 or a big C...not for the younger generation because they would be bored....

FROZEN

well Disney did a good job...it was a sold out theater and it was worth it.....a truly delightful movie for all ages ...4 years to 95 will love it....lots of action and fun characters.....B-plus or 9 out of 10...enjoy

if you like vince Vaughn , then you will like this movie....I enjoyed it....it is a nice light comedy....I give it a C-plus or an 8out of 10 for 14 years to 95 ha ha....

ABOUT TIME

with Rachel Mcadams and a main lead actor from England who you wouldn`t expect to be a lead actor but he was very good....I the more you watched him, the cuter he became...the show was just great,...a good romantic comedy with a twist back in time.....I loved it...a girls night out type of movie...a couples movie if the fella is a romatic type....a 9 out of 10 or Bplus for ages 14a to 90a ha ha

Enders game

the young boy was amazing...the show was better than I expected....we both enjoyed it and there will be a sequel for sure...all ages would enjoy it especially if they like space show...we gave it a 8 out of 10 or a Cplus..ages 6 to 90

LAST VEGAS

with Michael douglas, morgan freeman, kevin kline, and Robert de niro....need I say more,,,they were all hilarious...it is definitely a movie for the older crowd, 40 plus or a lot of the humour would be missed...we both enjoyed it a lot and laughed a lot...a 9 out 10 or a big Bplus

runner runner

if you know anything about poker , then you will like this movie....neither of us did so it wasn;t that good for us ,,,,I like Justin timberlake, so I enjoyed his acting but otherwise the movie was too much gambling for me and I don't understand the poker concept so I did not enjoy it that much...a 7 out of 10 or a C for adults only....

RUSH

if you like watching car races, then you will like this show ....ron howard makes great movies and this was a true story so it was well done....but I had to look away when they did the graphic hospital scenes....my movie buddy loved it(but she has always enjoyed car racing shows)she gave it a 9 out of 10 and I gave it a 5 out 10....I was bored with the car races and story was upsetting and slow for me....the acting was good tho...it is up to your tastes in regard to cars, but this was not my kind of show.......

GRAVITY

WOW, what an amazing movie...the special affects were really good,,,if you have vertigo, then this movie might be hard to watch because it is in3D....Sandra bullock was good in this movie and the suspense was high and beliveable....ages 10 to 90 will love it expecially if they are into becoming an astronaut ha ha....a 10 out of 10 or a big A

CAPTAIN PHILLIPS

Tom Hanks is amazing in any movie ,,,and he does not disappoint you in this one either...it was very good...the less you know about what happened in real life(cause this is based on a true story)the better you will enjoy this movie....we really enjoyed our preview night and rated it 10 out of 10 or a big A.. exciting for ages 12 to 90...a must see...

the last movie before james galofina died, it has Julia Louis dreyfuss in it too.....it was suppose to be a comedy about a woman like an overweight divorced man ,,but it was not that funny...there was a few cute moments but not the best movie...we gave it a 6 out of 10 or a C minus....

with hugh jackman and jake gallyhal(excuse spelling)...fantastic actors and a very suspenceful movie...it was really good....I can not tell you much and don't let anyone talk to you about it in case they give away the twists and turns of the movie....all I can say if you like mystery and suspense (and a little gruesome) then go see it...ages 14 to 90 ...a definite 10 out of 10 or an A for excellent...

we thought it would be a good movie with Robert deniro in it but we were wrong...it was pathetic....the story was good but weakly done....slow moving and boring,,,that all we can say....we gave it a 5 out 10 or a big C minus....ages 12 to 90 but do not waste your money

closed circuit

actors were very good in it...if you like slow moving movies and political movies you will like this one especially if you understand English politics....it was a real thinker movie....we liked it but it wasn't very action packed....a 7 out 10 or a big and 18A rating only because you have to pay a lot of attention to what they are saying and the gov't is doing........

the worlds end

I enjoy simon peg  and nick frost but this was not their best...a silly storyline and slow moving and not humorous like their last movies like sean of the dead, hot fuzz and paul.....even Stephen gave a 6 out 10 or Cminus...not for a younger audience....ages 14 to 30....very immature movie

percy jackson

the tweens love it and so did joanne but I was bored and hated it....I give it a 4 out of 10 only because I like the lead actor,,,special effects were not so good and other actors not so good...but the younger audience seem to like it...whats wih that aye ha ha

elysium...

matt damom is amazing as a tough action star...the storyline is very dark and there is no laughs in this movie but it is got great special effects and good storyline and it is nice to see Jodie foster on screen even if she is the bad guy...I thought it was good even tho I had to look away a few times cause it got a  little gruesome for me....an 8 out of 10 or a B rating for 18 to 90 years young

the wolverine

if you like hugh jackman then you will like this movie....it is very action packed and has good storyline.,,.....lots of violent action, so watch out .....we both enjoyed it , a 9 out 10 or Bplus for 18 to 90years young.....

I was very disappointed with this movie...I expected more of story...I usual like movies that jeff bridges or ryan Reynolds are in but this was pathetic...the best part was the preview....I give it a 3 out of 10 or a big D ages 14A to 90

it was pretty good, I love watching bruce willis and john makovich...they are so funny together....a little too much guns and violence but action was pretty good...if you like the first movie you will like this one.....we gave it a 8 out of 10 or Cplus ages 14A

PACIFIC RIM

joanne picked this movie, I was not too keen to see it but it proved better than I expected...the actors were all new and I thought they did real good...the special effects were amazing and I actually enjoyed the movie for ages 10 and up,,,,i give it an 8 out 10 or a big C-plus....if you liked transformers you will like this movie....

THE LONE RANGER

I really enjoyed it.,,,,you got to look at it with a light attitude because its kinda silly but funny...johnny depp is hilarious as tonto and armie does a good job as the long ranger....I gave it a 9 out 10 because it was funny and brought back memories of when I was a kid and they played the HIGH OH SILVER song,,,,,age 10 to 90 my movie buddy gave it an 8 out of 10 but I say a B-plus..nice light comedy with lots train action and stunts...

WHITE HOUSE DOWN

1. I  wasn't expected too much with channing tattum in it but surprisingly it was pretty good...Jamie fox is always amazing and channing was a really good action guy and I love movie with james wood in them....it was action packed and very entertaining to watch ...we both gave it a 9 out 10 or a B-plus rated for older kids 10 to 90

THE HEAT

I have loved Sandra bullock movies but this one is debatable.... I like Melissa McCarthy but she is a little too crude for me and chemistry just does not work for this two...it was an ok movie but it could have been funnier without so much crudeness...and mellissa looks pretty terrible throughout movie and she is such a pretty lady too...if you like the bridesmaid, and the hangover movies then you will like this movie....plot was thin....an 7 out of 10 or a big C for 14a and up wait for the video

world war Z

well......the special effects were great and if you like brad pitt you will love this movie....I like him but I am not a big fan and I hate his long scruffy hairdo.....show was ok if you like zombie movies(which I don't like, except for the movie WARM BODIES)...it was a bit too long .....I gave it a 8 out 10 or a small C-plus definitely 14A movie....a few of the audience applauded....

if you like marvel comics you will love this movie....people even applauded at the end of movie....I enjoyed it but I would not say it was the best ...two much special effects fighting for me....the new actor who played superman was lovely and he did a good job but it dragged on too long,,...just when we thought it was over there was another special effects fight....ho hum.....I give it an 8 out of 10 or a big CPLUS   ... ages 10 to 90

we really enjoyed this movie ,,,the magic was great and the cast were great...if you like magic definitely go see this show ,,,it keeps you guessing right up to the end ....ages 10 to 90 will love this show...there isn't even any bad language......a must see for sure.....9 out of 10 or Bplus

the great gratsby

i never cared for the orginal so i reluctantly went to this one....it was ok...leonardo decapra was excellent as usual...and era and costomes were great but the film itself was just ok...a bit better than original with robert redford....a 7 out of 10 or a big C .....kids will not like it.....but the older crowd who remember the roaring 20;s might like it better...

the internship

with vince vaughn and owen wilson was a surprise hit ....i didn't expect it to be as good as it was....there were a few crude parts in it (that could have been left out) but vince wrote the story so his humor is a little crude...but on a whole the movie was pretty good....a lot of computer jargon witch i had a little trouble with but on the whole i give it a 8 out 10 or cplus ages 14a to 90

after earth

will smith produced, directed, funded and wrote this story for his son,  who did a great acting job in the movie....it was a little slow pace but i enjoyed it and to watch his son act was enjoyable.....i give will smith credit for trying to give his son such a wonderful opportunity in this show business he wants to persue.....the movie was ok at 8 out of 10...suitable for ages 10 and up a big cplus ...or wait for the dvd.....

if you like marvel comic movies you will love this one...i enjoyed it more than joanne....the show was sold out, get those tickets early ....go for kids 8 and up , if they have good attention spa because it is 2and half hours long.....very action packed...a 9 out of 10 or Bplus.....

THE BIG WEDDING

it was ok,,the commercial is the funniest parts...the actors were great but the storyline was weak and at the end there was a big movie blooper...everyone was suppose to be wet from falling in the lake but at the end they were in same clothes only nice and dry.....i gave it a 8 out of 10 or a cplus and some crude comments throughout so not for the young mines or under 18.....

oblivion

if you like tom cruise you will like this movie no matter what....i definitely enjoyed it but my friend joanne thought it got boring towards the end....the plot was hard to figure out and there was a lot of questions at the end of the movie...the special effects were amazing and i loved watching tom race around the planet....i give it an 8 out of 10 or a big Cplus...ages 10 and up if you like star wars go see it...????

A PLACE IN THE PINES

a surprise that it was so good....3 stories within one movie...i love ryan gosling so i really enjoyed it and i like bradley couper also...it definitely for the older crowd because it has a violent topic but i thought the movie was good and so did my son think so...a definite guy movie for sure...i gave it a 8 out of 10 or a big C plus ages 14 years and older

everyone applauded and stood up at the end of the movie....so i guess if you are a baseball fan , you will love this movie...i liked it but got a little bored through it...my friend joanne loved it....i gave it 8 out of 10 and the audience gave it a 10....i am glad i saw .....for all ages that can sit through the two hours....

a delightful animated show....the kid in me enjoyed and i am sure kids 5 and up will love it....emma stone and ryan reynolds add their voices to the show....we gave it an 8 out 10 or a big C-plus....

olympus has fallen..

an action packed movie that turned out to be darn good...both stephen and i enjoyed it lots....it sure showed the terrorists how to invade the white house....gerard butler is great to watch and a good action hero...guys will love this movie...bang, bang . blow them up kind of movie....an 8 out 10 or a B movie for 12 years and up

OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL......

i really liked it....it wasn;t overkill like jack the giant slayer...kids 8 to 95 will love it.. the special effects are beautiful and the characters are endearing , especially the little china doll....i gave it a big C-PLUS OR 8 OUT OF 10...

JACK THE GIANT SLAYER...i expected too much this time and was dissappointed....it is rated PG13 because the giants are too gruesome for younger kids.....teens will probably like this movie more than us but there was just too much special effects and not enough comic relief....we both gave it a 6 out 10 or C-.........

SIDE EFFECTS....

very slow moving in first half and picks up a bit in second half....not much action and the twist is interesting.....makes you think if you are on medication from a doctor....it was ok but i would wait for video..actors were good...a 6 out of 10 or barely a C,,,,

THE IMPOSSIBLE...i waited a long time for this to come to a coquitlam theater but they said ''never' so i had to drive to langley to see it....and it was well worth the drive....i can see why niomii watts is up for an award because she is amazing...the show is very well done and it makes you realize how powerful the zumnomi (excuse spelling) was....it is a very moving story especially cause it is true story....a 10 out of 10 or A for effort......alll ages over 6 willl find it breath taking and amazing what happenened to those poor people back in 2004...

QUARTET..... a nice light comedy,,,if you liked the marigold hotel you will like this one...it is definitely geared for the older crowd of maybe 40 and up...we enjoyed it and the neat thing is that all the musicians and singer (except for the 4 main stars) are the real people not actors....an 8 out of 20 or a big C-PLUS

PARKER...if you like jason stratham then go see it but it was not his best movie ...it sort of fell apart in the middle and jennifer lopez was not so good in it,. her charater wasnot too good.,.a 6 out of 10 or C-minus

hansel and gretel the witch hunters....we both were hesitant to see this movie but we have seen too many movies ,,,so off we went and we were pleasantly surprised....it was a little grusome at parts but the action was fun and interesting....teenagers will love this movie....jeremy renner is the star hansel and does a great job of it.....we gave it a Cplus or a big 8 out of 10.....

les miserables...i saw the 1997 movie with liam nielson and geoffery rush, wihich was very good but dark and sad....so when a friend of mine wanted to see it for her birthday ,,i couldn;t say no....i was surprised how outstanding hugh jackman and ann hatheways proformances were....after you got used to the singing/talking the movie was good and well done....i am glad i saw it...8 out of 10 or a big Cplus.....higher marks from people who love that time in history....definitely for 12 and up cause it is very dark......
